Human CD80 (B7-1) is a costimulatory ligand for CD28 and CTLA-4.   CD80 is expressed on activated B cells (4).

Isotype: Murine IgMk

Immunogen: Transformed B lymphoblastoid cells (Baboon)

Specificity: Antibody BB1 recognizes the CD80 molecule of 60 kd (1, 6).  It has been reported to be cross reactive with porcine CD80.

Functional Application: Antibody BB1 blocks adhesion to CD28/CTLA-4, blocks Th induced B cell Ig synthesis and  blocks binding of soluble CD152-muIg fusion protein to CD80.  Clone BB1 does not bind to formaldehyde fixed cells.
